What this policy covers
This policy explains how the Mushroom Hunt marketing website (mushroomhunt.app) uses cookies and similar browser storage. The mobile app is covered separately below.
Strictly necessary storage
These are set automatically and cannot be declined without breaking the site. They include:
- Cookie consent choice - remembers whether you have accepted or declined optional cookies so we don't ask again on every visit.
- Session and anti-CSRF tokens - short-lived tokens used on pages that require a signed-in state (for example, the account-deletion flow) to protect your session against cross-site request forgery.
No personal data is stored in these cookies beyond what is needed to fulfil their function.
Optional analytics cookies
With your consent, we may set analytics cookies to understand how visitors use the site (pages visited, time spent, errors encountered). This data is aggregated and not used to identify you personally. We do not use advertising networks and no data is sold to or shared with third parties for marketing purposes.

The mobile app
The iOS and Android apps do not use browser cookies. The app stores the following on your device only:
- Login token - keeps you signed in between sessions.
- Local preferences - settings such as your notification preferences and display choices, stored in the device's secure local storage.
No advertising identifiers and no cross-app tracking are used in the app.
How to clear cookies
You can clear or block cookies at any time through your browser settings. The exact steps depend on your browser:
- Chrome - Settings → Privacy and security → Clear browsing data.
- Firefox - Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data → Clear Data.
- Safari - Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data.
- Edge - Settings → Privacy, search, and services → Clear browsing data.
Clearing cookies will reset your consent choice, and the banner will appear again on your next visit. Strictly necessary session cookies will also be cleared, which will sign you out if you are logged in.
Changes to this policy
If we add new cookies or analytics providers, we will update this page and, where required, ask for your consent again via the banner.
